There are 100 hands, 50 declarer and 50 defense. The problems are paired in the sense that each "theme" is presented once as a declarer play problem and then later as a defense hand, with teh hands slightly changed.
100 new problems - in matched pairs - to play both ways. This is the sequel to the first volume in which the author introduced a concept new to bridge problem books. In that book 50 brand-new hands are laid out, and the bidding reviewed. Then you as declarer, must plan the play of the hand to make the contract.The same 50 hands (or sometimes very similar) are then presented again, seen from the vantage point of the defense.
